This Memorial Day weekend I would like to honor this young soldier who is a client at Perfectly Matched. He is only 27 years old and last month he was deployed for the fourth time. One of the things I ask my clients to do is to write in their own words what an ideal relationship would be for them, and also write about some special moments in their life. This is his Ideal Relationship and Special Moments that he wrote a few months ago.

Ideal Relationship
I wouldn’t expect perfection, but good character. Honesty and patience will make a relationship last. Someone who wants to build a relationship, loves to travel and the outdoors. My ideal relationship would be with someone who is trustworthy. I am very good about keeping my promises, and I would love to see that in a partner. She has a strong desire to raise a family as I do. My grandfather left me a farm and all of my friends and family want me to sell it, but I hold on to a dream of working the land raising a family there someday. My partner will value my interests and I hers. We feel congenial towards and supportive of one another’s overall goals and feelings in life.

Special Moments
Life on earth happens because we all make it happen though the actions we make. It’s easy to forget how special every day is. In 2006 and in 2009 I almost died on deployments. So now I take nothing for granted. Be it using my five senses, hanging out with friends and family, or just enjoying the weather. It is these moments that I hold dear because I almost lost them all. I would love start new moments with someone so I can show them how much I appreciate the time we spend together and hopefully the feelings are mutual.

Before he left I told him I will look forward to helping him find this special lady when he returns.
God bless all our soldiers this Memorial Day, and every day, and thank you for your service to our country.
