My first appointment today is a man, late 30’s, ABS, educated, his long term goal is marriage and children. He said “I thought I would be a father by now and I don’t want to waste any more time in a relationship that does not lead to marriage.” He has been engaged twice and he wants the third engagement ring he buys to be the last. He has known about my service for years and used to think only desperate people would join a dating service. He said “You must be doing something right to stay in business for over 20 years. I decided to meet you and see how this works.” He was very surprised how much I knew about him from the brief profile test that took him less than ten minutes to complete. He said “How can you know all this about me from just 46 questions?” I said “I have worked with this test for almost 25 years. I believe in these “scores”. It cannot be a coincidence that the couples who continue to have success are the ones who have the most compatible scores. It means you will meet someone who thinks much the same way as you do in these six important areas.” He has done a couple of the online services and he said “Everybody says they hike, and ski, and camp, and blab, blab, blab. I like to read, spending a day exploring a bookstore is one of my favorite things to do. I like to go to plays, especially at CC and the Fine Art Center. I like to take long walks after dinner around my neighborhood holding hands with someone special. I like to travel around Colorado and New Mexico. I want to have at least one child and be the best parent I can be and I want to marry a woman who wants to be the best parent she can be.” He is also very open to adoption. He said “I cannot image there is anything more rewarding in life than being happily married and being a father.” He is now a new client and I plan to do all I can to make sure his next engagement ring will be his last.
My second appointment is a lady, mid 20’s, ABS, educated, a teacher, her long term goal is marriage and children. She is very sweet and very pretty, beautiful skin, white teeth, great smile, thick brown hair, but I am somewhat limited in matching her because she is overweight. She understands that weight is an issue for men, just as height is an issue for women, but she is fairly comfortable with her weight and hopes to meet a man who will appreciate all the other things she has to offer to a relationship. I think she would be a terrific mother. She is bright, engaging, personable, funny, down to earth, sincere and genuine. She is going to start working out at the gym and would like to lose some weight but she would also like to meet a man who does not mind a curvy lady. She said “The thing is, I am attracted to athletic men, and I don’t want to settle for less because of my weight, so I am going to work on losing weight while you work on finding me a man who might like me just the way I am.”
We are suppose to have our first snowstorm tomorrow. Yesterday we had a record high of 75 degrees and tomorrow the high is suppose to be 32 degrees. You gotta love Colorado!
