My first appointment on Saturday is a very special lady. She is mid 50’s, divorced, has a grown child, and her long term goal is to absolutely be married. So many people say they would consider marriage, might be open to marriage, can go either way as far as marriage. It is refreshing to hear someone say they know they “absolutely” want to be married. By the time I finished my interview with her my interview sheet was covered with notes and comments. She walked in with a cowboy hat on so no surprise she loves horses (has one), takes riding lessons, adores camping (I don’t recall anyone ever saying they “adore camping”), downhill, cross country and water skiing, hiking, travel, theaters, concerts, plays, and volunteer work. She is a news junkie, enjoys CNN, MSNBC, and discussions about current events. She has done commercial real estate and has a hunting certificate to hunt elk and deer. She loves animals, dogs, cats, horses, all animals. Instead of tall, dark and handsome when I asked her physically what she was attracted to as for as a man is concerned she said “5’7 (she is taller), blonde hair and blue or green eyes.” She is a country girl and wants a “handsome boy” who enjoys “sunsets and a ton of critters.” She is very easy going and about as sweet as they come. She is coming back Friday to sign up and I look forward to helping her find a handsome boy to enjoy sunsets and tons of critters. Oh, and she is beautiful.
My first appointment today is a man, mid 30’s, ABS, educated, self employed, his long term goal is marriage and children. He has a preteen child from a previous relationship who lives in another state. He said “I love my son and I see him four or five times a year and half the summer but I want to be married and have children I see every day.” He has a very successful business that he has worked hard to grow and make profitable. He said “I have had a job since I was 10. I mowed lawns, delivered papers and paid cash for my first car when I was 16.” He owns his home and can afford for a wife to be a stay at home mom, which would be his preference. His best friend met and married his wife through Perfectly Matched and they have two children. He said “I kept thinking I would meet someone and it would just happen but I am tired of waiting. I don’t want to be having kids when I am 40, I want to have them in the next five years, at least one or two.” His friend said “I don’t know where you think you are going to meet someone, you work all the time and don’t go anywhere, call Donna.” The day after his friend said that to him he saw my ad in a health club and called. I have some great matches for him
and I immediately zeroed in on the ladies who said they would like to be stay at home moms.
Dad is doing great in Florida. He was off his oxygen for six hours yesterday (he could not be off it for more than 10 minutes in Colorado) and has gone from three liters to one and a half. He went out to dinner last night and did not use his walker. It really seems almost like a miracle that all this has happened so quickly. My brother has always succeeded at anything he has his heart set on and right now his heart is set on helping Dad get as well as possible. I am thrilled he is doing so well and cannot wait to see how this all works out.
To be continued……………..
