My first appointment today is a lady, early 40’s, divorced, grown children, and her long term goal is marriage. She said “I want to be married forever and be as excited about him in 20 years as I was the day we met.” She enjoys fishing, camping, boating (she would love to go sailing with someone), snowboarding, golf, bowling, and concerts. She said “Physically, I like strong, big boned guys. Someone who is hardworking, maybe from Wisconsin.”She is a military brat and has a fondness for military men. She is very open and very sweet. I think she will approach all of her matches with an open mind and heart. She has gone back to school to change careers and will be in the medical field. She is in a position where she could retire very comfortably and, instead, she continues to work part time for the company she has been with for many years and go back to school to have a second career. She said “I am much too young to retire and I enjoy learning.” She is very easy going and outgoing, an “8” (on a scale of “0” to “10”) in both of those scores and she is very excited to have my help to find the right man. He is the only thing missing.
Everybody is wrapped up in finishing their summer vacations and the kids go back to school in two weeks. I heard a radio commercial for a furniture store on the radio the other day and it said “The holidays will be here before you know it.” I thought, OMG, it is still July! However, when the kids go back to school is when my business definitely gets busier because people do start thinking about the holidays. NOW is always a good time to make your personal a priority.
My Dad leaves with my brother for Florida next Friday. My other daughter is in town with my 11 and 9 year old grandsons and tomorrow my ex-husband is having a cookout for Dad, my brother, all our grandsons, our daughters, one son-in-law and me. My father was my ex-husband’s commanding officer when we met and he still respects Dad and the history they shared. There will be LOTS of pictures!
