My first appointment today is a man, late 50’s, divorced, educated, grown kids, self employed, and his long term goal is a serious relationship, probably not marriage.
He said “Marriage at this stage in life is just too complicated. Never say never, but I have found that most of the women I have met and dated don’t seem to have a problem with that. Do you think it will be a problem?”
I said “No, not with your scores (he is nonconforming), and also because I find many people in this age range feel the same way do you about it, it’s just too complicated.”I asked him what the ideal situation would be for him if he met the right lady.
He said “I am very open to whatever works for both of us, including marriage, if a prenuptial agreement can be worked out. I would definitely live with someone, or maintain separate residences, or buy a house together.”
He said “If anyone told me I would be considering a dating service when I am almost 60, I would not have believed it. I went on the internet just to see what I would find and I found you. The online sites didn’t appeal to me because I would never put my picture or information on the internet and you have been doing this for a long time. I thought maybe you know something I don’t know when it comes to finding the right person.”
I said “What I do here is opposite of what people do on their own. I start with the things that matter; compatibility, similar long term goals, shared interests and activities, the issues like smoking, drinking, kids, pets, education, income, and then I add the mutual physical attraction. When my clients meet and there is a mutual attraction there is so much more potential for success.”
He enjoys golf, tennis, hiking, travel, theater, concerts, hot springs, good food and good wine. He appreciates a lady who is classy, fit, funny, has a good relationship with her family, and if she enjoys cooking that is the icing on the cake.
He said “I am already semi retired, and retiring completely is in the near future. I want to find the right lady to share this time of my life. Someone who can travel, and enjoys many of the same things I enjoy. That is another reason I came to see you. I want this to be my last, and best relationship.”
He will date up to his own age and even a few years older. Needless to say, I have some great matches for him.
He said “I am very impressed with the ladies you talked to me about today and if this works for me, I have a couple of friends I will send in your direction.”
I said “Referral business is what keeps me in business. I would love to meet your friends.”
I think it is going to be very easy to find him his last, and best relationship.
My second appointment rescheduled for tomorrow so Saturday will be ladies day at Perfectly Matched. I have three ladies coming in, mid 40’s, late 30’s and early 50’s. Next week I already have four appointments booked. I love January, it is always my busiest month in business.
