My first appointment today is a man, early 40’s, divorced, self employed, his long term goal is marriage and he can go either way as far as having children. He said “When I find the right lady, if having kids is what works for both of us, great, if not, that’s OK too. He ended a relationship several years ago because she did not want children and in hindsight he stills considers her the best relationship he has ever had. I said “Where is she now?” He said “Married with two kids.” I said “And the message there IS?” He said “She changed her mind or maybe she did not want to have kids with me.” He decided to not make that a show stopper for meeting someone and thinks he may be getting too old to have kids. He said “I really am OK with it either way. Finding the right person is what matters the most.” He enjoys reading, hiking, good wine and good food, cooking, spending time with friends, music and concerts. He lives west of Colorado Springs and prefers the wide open spaces. He said “Find me someone who is sweet. I am a sucker for a lady who is just plain, darn sweet.” I told him many men tell me “sweet” is on the top of the list. He said “How can you know if they are sweet?” I said “If their temperament score is a “7” or higher they are more likely to be sweet because they are easy going.” He said “Easy going is something else I like.” I said “Then you’re in luck, because sweet and easy going usually go hand in hand.” He is a peach of a guy and I look forward to finding him a peach of a lady, sweet and easy going.
My second appointment is a client coming in to reconnect. She is mid 30’s, divorced, educated, a nurse, and her long term goal is marriage and children. She shared with me how she is feeling more open and more ready to meet the right man. Everyone feels they are ready when they join Perfectly Matched because, at the time, they truly believe they are emotionally available and ready to move on. It is only as they look back that they realize how much more ready they are six, seven, ten months later. I can always tell when they have crossed that line because they tell me they know they are more ready and want to make it more of a priority. I met this lady’s mother when she was visiting and as she left my office she said “I hope you can find the right man for my daughter because she is the jewel of the family.” Currently I do not have a man who appears to be a match for her. I told her I would write about the kind of man she is looking for on my daily dairy, so here goes…… Her age preference is 30 to 45, 5’7 or taller, a man who values family and friends, knows he wants children, believes in God, intellectually compatible, has healthy eating habits, exercises and stays fit. She is very fit, petite, pretty and is only looking for as much as she has to offer in return. She enjoys hiking, yoga, jogging, travel, photography, theater, concerts, and reading is very important.
