My first appointment today is a man, mid 50’s, divorced, educated, grown children, self employed, his long term goal is a serious relationship, and possibly marriage. He had one relationship since his marriage ended.

He said “I went from being married for over 20 years right into a relationship that lasted five years and ended a few months ago. I am feeling like I am ready to date again and when I Googled dating services in Colorado Springs yours came up first. Two hours later I was still on your website reading your daily diaries and identifying several of the mistakes I made in my last relationship.”
I said “What mistakes did you make?”
He said “First of all, I did not wait to heal. You recommend waiting one month for every year you were married before you get into another serious relationship. I was only three months out of my marriage when I met the lady I dated for five years. You also recommend exploring your options when you begin to date. I met her and stopped wanting to meet anyone else. You recommend no sex for the first three months. Within two weeks of dating we were intimate and talking about our future.”
I said “I love that you identified all those things, so if we work together can I assume you will follow my recommendations?”
He said “I am putty in your hands.”
I said “That remains to be seen, but I appreciate that you are here and determined to listen to my recommendations.”

His interest and activities include mellow hiking, cooking, concerts, travel, and spectator sports. He is a HUGE Bronco fan for many years and he is so excited about Peyton Manning being the new quarterback.
He said “I just wish they had kept Tebow as a backup.”
I have to agree with him. I wish they had kept Tim, too. I have been a Bronco fan since I moved here in 1977. Intially, I thought the Bronco fans were nuts to be so excited about a football team. Little did I know that I would be one of them in a very short time.

What I like most about this man is his honesty about who he is and what he wants. There is no pretense with him, what you see is what you get.
I have some great matches for him and one of them Is a HUGE Cowboys fan.
He said “They are my second favorite team.” This is going to be easy……

To be continued…….
