My first appointment today is a man, late 20’s, ABS (always been single), educated, his long term goal is marriage and children. He is very articulate and wise beyond his years. According to his “scores” he is somewhat easy going, but not a wimp, outgoing, nonconforming, affectionate, but not smothering, an atheist, and financially responsible.
I said “I have given this test to thousands of people in the last 25 years and I can count on one hand the ones who have scored a “0” in religion. Do you consider yourself an atheist?”
He said “I do. I have studied religion for years and I can comfortably say I am an atheist.” He shared many of his views and opinions and it was obvious that he had a real desire to find the answers to the questions that mattered to him. He respects Buddhism and Taoism and he also respects everyone’s right to believe whatever they believe.
He said “I tell the honest truth, even when it is hard to do.”
He is new to Colorado and looks forward to learning to ski and hiking. He plays on a hockey league, enjoys golf, movies, concerts, theater, museums, reading, and loves to travel. He has been to Sweden, Japan, Ireland, and all over Central America. He does not enjoy the club and bar scene.
He is looking forward to exploring more of Colorado and would love to find a special lady to share the adventures.
My second appointment is a lady, early 30’s, educated, a teacher, divorced, has one young child, her long term goal is marriage and she is open to having another child.
She thought about trying one of the internet dating services, but she felt uncomfortable about the idea that her students, or their parents, might see her picture and information online.
She said “It was my aunt’s idea for me to give you a call. I looked up your website, liked what I saw, and decided to give you a call.”
She is very easy going and absolutely loves kids, and teaching them.
She said “I enjoy my students so much and I like to make teaching fun for them. I look forward to going to work every day.”
I said “I believe most teachers love kids because they sure don’t do it for the money.”
She likes hiking, reading, camping, horseback riding, classical music, and traveling. She has been all over Europe, Canada, and the US.
She said “OH! And I love to cook. I am a gourmet cook and one of my favorite stores is Williams Sonoma. I have better knives than I do accessories. I can make soufflés, and meals that rival the best you can get in any great restaurant.”
She is very flexible on her preferences and thinks she will be more compatible with an older man because she feels like she “is an old soul”.
She said “I like short, kind of chubby men and I don’t care if he is bald, or shaves his head, or has facial hair. The one thing I do care about is good teeth.”
I told her teeth are the one physical aspect both women and men notice more than any other.
She is a real sweetheart, and I have some great matches for her.
I booked an appointment for next week and her father, who was a client 15 years ago, referred her to me. You know you have been in business a long time when you are meeting the second generation in a family!
