My first appointment today is a man, late 30’s, divorced, and his long term goal is marriage. He has two children, one in college and one in elementary school. He said “My wife thought she could not get pregnant and our second child was a total surprise.” Of course he cannot imagine his life without his youngest child and she is the light of his life. In the interview I always ask who choose to end the marriage and he said “we mutually agreed and there was no drama. No one was unfaithful, no one was mean or nasty or selfish and it was the best thing for both of us.” She has since remarried and she is the person who encouraged him to call me. He was surprised at how many ladies I have who are good matches for him and also have a young child. One of the ladies has four children and he has no problem meeting someone who has four kids. He loves kids, and he would consider having another one under the right circumstances. He is very open on many of his preferences, including meeting someone who is overweight. He said “I could stand to lose a few pounds myself. It would be hypocritical for me to say I would not meet a lady who is somewhat overweight.” I told him many men look at that differently but I appreciate his attitude. He said “In fact, I do not find myself attracted to women who don’t have a little meat on their bones.” Refreshing to hear…

Feedback today from a lady who has been dating a man I introduced her to eight months ago, “He wants me to move in with him and I want to, what do you think?” After she shared the details of how it would all work, it sounds like a good idea to me, although I usually like to see a couple go through all four seasons before making a commitment to move in or marry. She is going to rent out her home until they can see how this works out for both of them. She said “We practically live together anyway and we are talking about marriage.” They are planning their wedding for December 21, 2012 because that is the day the world is suppose to end, according to I don’t know who, and they think it will be fun to get married on the day the world is suppose to end. She said I will be invited to their wedding and I said I would be there if I was not busy dealing with the end of the world.

To be continued tomorrow…..
